Welcome to Indigo Bazaare the socially responsible online fashions store. Indigo bazaar is a pioneering ethical fashion site only presenting designers who are committed to creating environmentally sustainable garments with a clear transparent supply chain.

Carlie Ballard founder and curator of Indigo Bazaar  sources fashion from 14 countries around the world.  Each eco-friendly designer chosen for the Bazaare has their own sustainable story be it the use of quality sustainable textiles or utilising tradition craftsmanship, as well as fair and equal working conditions for the garment workers making this an eclectic and unique mix of product in one place.

After Launching in 2012 the website has been invited into the Ethical Fashion Forum Fellowship 500 and has been highly commended in the Independent Boutique category for the Ethical Fashion Forum’s Source Awards.

Last month Indigo Bazaare had its first birthday and Carlie is passionate about ethical fashion and the website’s future.

I love fashion and would never compromise on style, however once you know what goes on behind the factory doors, it’s implanted forever. No one wants to hear the horror stories behind the manufacture of high street fashion. I prefer to focus on the empowering and positive stories behind the fashion I source. Women may not choose or be able to buy ethical fashion 100% of the time, but I encourage them to get informed and purchase responsibly when they can”

In the wake of recent events this is certainly where the future of the industry is heading.  We’ve made a little selection of some of our favourite piece’s amongst the website’s great designers.
