Still Alive T.shirt

The spirit of political activism and slogan t.shirts pioneered by Katherine Hamnett and Vivienne Westwood has been recaptured in the wake of the tragic Bangladesh factory collapse.

Offset warehouse, an ethical fabric sourcing website founded by fashion entrepreneur Charlie Ross, have released a unisex t-shirt stating “The person who made this t-shirt is still alive”  Ross says of the still alive  t-shirts ”It’s a simple reminder that as consumers, we affect the lives of others through our shopping habits,” and she believes that this disaster will not be the last.

“The devastating news of the Rana Plaza garment factory collapse has received a lot of attention from the media because it‘s been so awful,” says Ross. “A death toll of over 1,000 is horrific. But there are plenty of other incidents that we haven’t heard about at all. For example, also in Dhaka, in November last year, there was a fire at the Tazreen garment factory, and that killed 124. But can anyone remember that? The Rana Plaza incident is just the latest in a long list – most of which could have been avoided.”

Each t.shirt costs just 4.99 (plus p&p) to which you have the option to add an additional £5 or £10 donation to support the campaign or just buy the t.shirt. Each garment is made in a WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production) certified factory ,printed with water-based inks – better for the workers’ skin, and better for the environment and made in an ethically safe working environment by workers who were paid a fair wage – no lives were put at risk in order to produce them.  To purchase your t.shirt follow this link
